Individual care in a small residential setting
The people sharing a residence do not share an identical treatment plan. Assessment considers your history, current difficulties, previous treatment, goals, and the support needed before, during, and after a stay. The clinical team then considers whether COGNIFUL is an appropriate setting.
COGNIFUL Premier and Premier Plus use one residential format: a private suite in a shared residence for a maximum of four clients throughout the stay. Clinical and bodywork sessions are individual. The residence, chef, and personal manager are shared in both programs. Being part of a wider group does not make every group service part of every COGNIFUL program. The admissions process confirms the location, residential setting, proposed clinical input, included services, and any additional arrangements for your stay. Within the group, THE BALANCE provides residential mental health and addiction treatment in Mallorca and Zurich. Its private mental health retreat in London is a separate therapist-led offer with psychotherapy, counseling, well-being support and arranged accommodation. The London retreat does not provide medical or psychiatric treatment, detoxification or residential addiction rehabilitation.
What treatment can address
COGNIFUL considers mental health needs, including depression and anxiety; alcohol and substance use; trauma and PTSD; and co-occurring needs. A diagnosis alone does not establish suitability. Current symptoms, physical health, medication, substance use, safety, and available support all matter.
COGNIFUL offers detoxification as part of its addiction treatment pathway. Clinical assessment determines the appropriate care plan and setting. In some cases, treatment may begin with an initial 1–3 days in a partner hospital for observation and stabilization before continuing at COGNIFUL. The pathway is planned around each person’s medical needs.
A clear proposal before arrival
Stays usually last four to twelve weeks, with the duration reviewed individually. The written proposal should identify the recommended duration, inclusions, and additional costs relevant to you. View program fees
Core arrangements include assessment, individual clinical and bodywork sessions, a private suite, chef-prepared meals, and residential coordination. The residence, chef, and personal manager are shared in both programs. Other holistic sessions, excursions, and activities are shared in Premier; every session and activity is individual in Premier Plus. COGNIFUL Premier Plus provides every session and activity individually and includes three months of structured aftercare after the residential stay. Specialist input, medication, external medical care, travel, security, extensions, and services beyond the selected program should be clarified individually. Planning for the next stage
A residential stay is one part of a longer care journey. Continuing care planning considers local clinical support, routines, relapse prevention, and agreed coordination with family or existing professionals. COGNIFUL Premier Plus includes three months of structured aftercare after the residential stay. Further follow-up in Premier is agreed separately.
