About COGNIFUL

COGNIFUL provides residential mental health, addiction, and trauma care in Mallorca as part of THE BALANCE GROUP. Its approach combines primarily individual psychotherapy with a small shared residential setting, private bedrooms, and planning for life after treatment.

Individual care in a small residential setting

The people sharing a residence do not share an identical treatment plan. Assessment considers your history, current difficulties, previous treatment, goals, and the support needed before, during, and after a stay. The clinical team then considers whether COGNIFUL is an appropriate setting.

There are two residential options: a setting with a maximum of two clients, and a setting with a maximum of four clients. These limits describe the total number of clients in the setting throughout your stay. They do not mean exclusive use by one client. Bedrooms are private; meals, some activities, excursions, and residential spaces may be shared. Learn more about life at COGNIFUL and our approach.

Part of THE BALANCE GROUP

COGNIFUL shares its clinical team with THE BALANCE. Our Clinical Team & Care Coordination page explains this relationship and links to the clinicians’ established profiles. Your assigned professionals and the involvement of particular disciplines depend on assessment and the agreed care plan.

Being part of a wider group does not make every group service part of every COGNIFUL program. The admissions process confirms the location, residential setting, proposed clinical input, included services, and any additional arrangements for your stay. What treatment can address

COGNIFUL considers mental health needs, including depression and anxiety; alcohol and substance use; trauma and PTSD; and co-occurring needs. A diagnosis alone does not establish suitability. Current symptoms, physical health, medication, substance use, safety, and available support all matter.

COGNIFUL is not an acute psychiatric hospital. Someone who requires emergency care, medical stabilization, or medically supervised withdrawal may need another service before residential admission can be considered. Admissions are subject to clinical approval and availability. In an immediate emergency, contact local emergency services rather than waiting for an admissions response.

A clear proposal before arrival

Stays usually last four to twelve weeks, with the duration reviewed individually. The weekly program fee is CHF 55,000 for a setting with a maximum of two clients or CHF 35,000 for a setting with a maximum of four clients. The written proposal should identify the recommended duration, inclusions, and additional costs relevant to you.

Core arrangements include assessment, individual therapy, a private bedroom, chef-prepared meals, and residential coordination. Specialist input, medication, external medical care, travel, security, extensions, and ongoing aftercare arrangements should be clarified individually. COGNIFUL operates on a self-pay basis and does not cooperate directly with insurers; documentation does not guarantee reimbursement. Read fees and admissions.

Planning for the next stage

A residential stay is one part of a longer care journey. Continuing care planning considers local clinical support, routines, relapse prevention, and agreed coordination with family or existing professionals. The services and fees for actual follow-up are agreed individually.

Families can begin by reading support for families. Professionals can use our referral guidance. Our Insights & Guides explain treatment decisions, preparation, and returning home in more detail.
